Dyfi Architecture oversaw the complete restoration of a Grade II* Jacobean hunting lodge and gatehouse. The buildings were in an extremely deleterious state of repair which required a careful and considered approach to restore them back to a fully habitable state. It was a hugely complex project incorporating listed building consents, planning, ecological and archaeological surveys and applications - all of which Dyfi Architecture handled highly professionally. They were there to provide advice, guidance and reassurance whenever we needed them. The project incorporated traditional building methods, such as lime plaster, and modern technology in the form of a water source heat pump. We are delighted with the project's outcome and grateful to Dyfi Architecture for the services they provided throughout.
We initially asked Dyfi Architecture to conduct a survey on our large Listed Manor House because we had doubts over the original standard surveyor’s report. This proved to be an invaluable investment that has enabled us to have every confidence in our work program going forwards. We engaged Dyfi Architecture for full architectural services thereafter. Dyfi Architecture helped to crystallise our vague ideas for a large contemporary extension to replace a defective structure in a traditional setting, into a workable design acceptable to the strict Planning Authority in the Snowdonia National Park . They worked closely with the building contractor and liaised with the Authorities to see the project through to completion. The superb result is far better than we could have hoped for and allows us to make the most of the views and daylight!
