Historical Welsh Longhouse in Snowdonia National Park, Wales

This superb example of a Traditional Welsh Longhouse is Grade 2 Listed and dates from 16-17th Century.

The owners were keen to use local and traditional building materials and techniques to renovate internally and outside whilst also making the house more energy efficient.

Dyfi Architecture detailed the adaptions in a way suited to the building’s historical context and aligned to the Conservation Department’s needs and Policies.

Using quality materials such as oak, lime plasters and laths, with breathable thermal elements such as sheep’s wool new elements can be introduced into historic buildings without compromising their original form.

The sensitive landscaping complements the setting and makes the grounds more accessible and usable.
