Dyfi Architecture are Lead Consultants in the upgrading and full restoration of this ten bedroomed Grade 2* Listed Gentry House set within a very substantial rural Estate dating from 1616. The house is noted as 'a major early C17th Gentry House, it's architectural ambition and social status marked in a fusion of regional traditions and renaissance ideas, retaining original interior detail of exceptional quality'.
The Estate which has been owned by the same family for generations is one of the most significant in Wales and the work being carried out is of the highest standard. The Estate has a number of Grade 2* Listed buildings which are considered in a whole group setting. This combined with being located in Snowdonia National Park requires exemplary design solutions.
The works include extensive sympathetic repairs alongside improvements to the thermal performance of the building fabric to reduce energy consumption. This is a balanced and creative approach that uses minimum intervention and yet will provide a comfortable home for today’s requirements and future generations.
This major project is nearing completion and the finished house will be a superb example of the finest crafts and interiors.
